The prestigious Balkans International Wine Competition 2021 took place once again in Skopje, bringing together top tasters and Masters of Wine from the Balkans and other European countries.
Among the numerous awards collected by Monemvasia Winery, it is worth mentioning the important awards that won three consecutive years of Kydonitsa: Gold for Kidonitsa 2020, Silver for 2019 and Double Gold for 2018, confirming in the best way the aging potential of the special and rare variety.
A double Gold medal was also awarded to Assyrtiko in 2020 and Gold in Assyrtiko in 2019, two very beautiful samples of the typicality of the variety and the terroir of Monemvasia, coming from an organic vineyard of very low yields.
Finally, the award of Monemvasia-Malvasia 2012 with Double Gold stands out, which adds many more that this fantastic year has received, and the first appearance of Monemvasia-Malvasia of 2011 ten years old, straight from the barrels, which won Double Gold but and the Best Indigenous Dessert Wine Trophy of the competition!
